After some careless play in the Sporting Clube Patrício defense, Luca Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ademar Azevedo. The Sporting Clube Patrício fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ademar Azevedo should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 21st minute of play forced Sporting Clube Patrício's goalkeeper Ademar Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Andreas Pirovolakis came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romão Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Clube Patrício's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ademar Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 31st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Leonardo Leoz got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Binne Koppermann, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Ademar Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Andreas Pirovolakis showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 42 minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube Patrício's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Ademar Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Ademar Azevedo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. In the 80th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ademar Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Sporting Clube Patrício's Vicente Maia in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Mexico's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Sporting Clube Patrício had won, even though Mexico had held more of the ball.
