The ball went over the crossbar instead. 9 minutes into the match, Raimundo Guimarães had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rodrigo Rios. MXL FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raimundo Guimarães was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Raimundo Guimarães might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rodrigo Rios. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Raimundo Guimarães ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the MXL FC defense, Raimundo Guimarães kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rodrigo Rios. The MXL FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodrigo Rios should have stopped the shot. Atilano Benat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauro Nevada in the 19th minute of the match. Atilano Benat made an important save on a dangerous shot by Victor Gomez in the 21st minute. Franco Murillo kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. The supporters of MXL FC booed when Dromes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raimundo Guimarães didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Raimundo Guimarães in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodrigo Rios saved MXL FC from getting behind. In the 28th minute, Gogo Caitano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rodrigo Rios didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raimundo Guimarães went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After having played for 38 minutes, Raimundo Guimarães managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Raimundo Guimarães made a kick off. Dromes FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Franco Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodrigo Rios breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Humberto Lleir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. The MXL FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodrigo Rios should have stopped the shot. When the match was over Dromes FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than MXL FC throughout the match.
