The supporters of Cougars FC booed when Ej. Hermosillo B.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elano Donatello didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute Mehat Kovaçi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Laffitte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ej. Hermosillo B.C.'s goalkeeper Jose Laffitte, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 41 played minutes Ej. Hermosillo B.C. got a freekick which was hit by Nicolae Petru. If Mehat Kovaçi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jose Laffitte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mehat Kovaçi in the 42nd minute of play. The wind increased when Orvar Alegren made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mehat Kovaçi in the 52nd minute of play forced Ej. Steffen Gimlinge might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jose Laffitte. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
