Feng Hong Rong started the match with the kick off. After 5 played minutes Ej. Hermosillo B.C. got a freekick which was hit by Elano Donatello. 6 minutes into the match, americalers's Feng Hong Rong sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jose Laffitte narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 7thth minute of the game Orvar Alegren who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but americalers's Fabio Estebe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leon Viedes scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jose Laffitte, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. americalers's defense didn't have a chance, in the 13th minute, when Tom Murillo scored to the left of an out of position Fabio Estebe, making the score, 1-1. americalers's Fabio Estebe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save americalers from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tom Murillo got free with Fabio Estebe in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 27th minute of the match Ej. Hermosillo B.C. got a corner. americalers's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tom Murillo ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Leon Viedes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With an all-out effort, Ej. Hermosillo B.C.'s Fabio Estebe threw himself towards the right post 34 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nicolae Petru, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 35th minute Feng Hong Rong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Laffitte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jose Laffitte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bon Scott in the 37th minute of the match. Leon Viedes took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jose Laffitte. Jose Laffitte dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Feng Hong Rong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Jose Laffitte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Orvar Alegren was the one to do the kick off. Fabio Estebe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tom Murillo in the 53rd minute of play. In the 55th minute Bon Scott shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Laffitte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 56th minute by Feng Hong Rong got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Carlos Eduardo Varela made in the 62nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Ej. Hermosillo B.C.'s Ulises Lesardo. 2-3 became the score in the 63rd minute when Nicolae Petru elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 67th minute, americalers's Kiki Fonseca dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-4. After some careless play in the Ej. Hermosillo B.C. defense, Kiki Fonseca kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jose Laffitte. The Ej. Hermosillo B.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jose Laffitte should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tom Murillo in the 77th minute of play forced americalers's goalkeeper Fabio Estebe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Ej. Hermosillo B.C.'s Jose Laffitte got control of the ball when Don Ogazón tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Kiki Fonseca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jose Laffitte was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. americalers were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Ej. Hermosillo B.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marcelino Eliazar took the corner. In the 90th minute, Kiki Fonseca left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The americalers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-7. After having played for 95 minutes, Tom Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ej. Hermosillo B.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Tom Murillo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. americalers's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
