Mauricio Gonzo's late challenge caught a Steelares FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mauricio Gonzo helped the player get up and apologised. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nicasio Barea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Amadeo Marcones struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Zé Paulo Hermes put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Eloy Gartxot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zé Paulo Hermes in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eloy Gartxot prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 58th minute, Celedonio Abajas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th minute Amadeo Marcones shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celso Hartz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, FC Yucatan Chichén Itzá's goalkeeper Celso Hartz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicasio Barea. 62 minutes into the match, Zé Paulo Hermes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eloy Gartxot. Steelares FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zé Paulo Hermes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Serafin Claris charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Fabricio Ganix might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Celso Hartz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fabricio Ganix ran back to his position shaking his head.
