The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Maximo Gomesano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maximo Gomesano scored 1-0 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Celso Hartz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. FC Yucatan Chichén Itzá's Celso Hartz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save FC Yucatan Chichén Itzá from getting a goal against them. The supporters of FC Yucatan Chichén Itzá booed when CF JABATOS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerardo Valiente didn't get a good kick on the ball. Celso Hartz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Horado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner led CF JABATOS's Maximo Gomesano to fire away a dangerous shot which Celso Hartz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Zé Paulo Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute, Mauricio Gonzo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Celso Hartz came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by CF JABATOS's Maximo Gomesano. But to his dismay, Maximo Gomesano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. After 45 played minutes CF JABATOS got a freekick which was hit by Gerardo Valiente. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Paulo Hermes in the 46th minute of play forced CF JABATOS's goalkeeper Venancio Bihar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

In the 55th minute Maximo Gomesano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celso Hartz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of CF JABATOS booed when FC Yucatan Chichén Itzá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaston Benino didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zé Paulo Hermes got free with Venancio Bihar in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Maximiliano Shepherd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Venancio Bihar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Paulo Hermes in the 67th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Maximo Gomesano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Celso Hartz was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. The audience was convinced that Maximo Gomesano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Celso Hartz was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. CF JABATOS's Venancio Bihar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save CF JABATOS from getting a goal against them. Celso Hartz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximo Gomesano in the 96th minute of play.
