Donny Read sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 11th minute, Tobías Astorga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 14th minute Modesto Sugar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benicio Javiero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Nuevo Laredo's zone, Donny Read stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benicio Javiero came out of the goal and Donny Read tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Donny Read's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benicio Javiero was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. In the 22nd minute Donny Read shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benicio Javiero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Atlético Nuevo Laredo's Rodrigo Rojas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gaudencio Lope narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Benicio Javiero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donny Read, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Colosos Afc's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Freddy Restu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Benicio Javiero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Modesto Sugar in the 46th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rodrigo Rojas to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Dante Faron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benicio Javiero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gaudencio Lope made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gogo Florinio got free with Benicio Javiero in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Atlético Nuevo Laredo booed when Colosos Afc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejandro Natanael didn't get a good kick on the ball. 76 minutes into the game, Atlético Nuevo Laredo's Tobías Astorga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gaudencio Lope made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atlético Nuevo Laredo's goalkeeper Benicio Javiero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Modesto Sugar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benicio Javiero having to make a save.
