Lounès Amri's late challenge caught a Atlético Nuevo Laredo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lounès Amri helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 45th minute of the game. One of The Lycans FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Atlético Nuevo Laredo:s goal. Min Beltranilla had in the 46thth minute some difficulties stopping Carolo Bernat's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 54th minute Leo Hidalgo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benicio Javiero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Atlético Nuevo Laredo players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for The Lycans FC.
