A sloppy throw-in by Emiliano Victoro in the 18th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by The KinG's Mariano Pello. Guillermo Ochoa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gonzalo Corderro in the 21st minute of play. Emiliano Victoro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Samuel Evarado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timur Thieße, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 51stth minute of the game Bernabe Ladio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but The KinG's Guillermo Ochoa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Yu Jing had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guillermo Ochoa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauricio Ekaitz, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute Bernabe Ladio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guillermo Ochoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samuel Evarado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hermosillo FC's Samuel Evarado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timur Thieße in the 92nd minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Gonzalo Corderro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Guillermo Ochoa. The KinG's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gonzalo Corderro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Hermosillo FC fully deserved thier win.
