In the 2nd match minute, Batalionul U23 Dorobanti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl-Michael Brask to maneuver through the defense. Karl-Michael Brask could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Joaquin Gayoso made a huge save. With 46 minutes on the clock, Bruno Beldad commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 46 minutes into the game, one of Uruguay:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 74th play minutes Karl-Michael Brask shot 6-2, a short shot which went by Joaquin Gayoso and just under the crossbar into goal. If Camilo Franco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Seco got free with Flavio Peter in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 90 minutes Uruguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Paul Stoian who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Paul Stoian almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso did a great save. Uruguay's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Batalionul U23 Dorobanti had won, even though Uruguay had held more of the ball.
