Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bogdan Utretskiy's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Gnaget United FC's zone, Alberto Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronnie Hellström came out of the goal and Alberto Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mexico's Luca Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ronnie Hellström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 21st minute of play. Mexico's Facundo Cadaval was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ronnie Hellström in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of Mexico booed when Gnaget United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kennet Mårtensson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ronnie Hellström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 30th minute of play. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Hellström having to interfere. In the 36thth minute of the game Lautaro Mancebo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gnaget United FC's Ronnie Hellström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Clóvis Cabral took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Dante Lacasa to make any attempt to save it. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Luca Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Luca Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronnie Hellström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alberto Tafalla struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Ronnie Hellström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. Bogdan Utretskiy's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dante Lacasa firmly grabbed it by the left post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. Ronnie Hellström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gnaget United FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. Luca Rouco was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Ronnie Hellström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 56th minute of play. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Hellström having to interfere. In the 69th play minute Lautaro Mancebo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ronnie Hellström. 1-1. A throw-in in the 72nd minute of the game was made by Macos Graciani with Luca Zorita as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 73rd minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronnie Hellström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 77 minutes of play, Gnaget United FC's Carl Kling made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dante Lacasa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gnaget United FC's Fabián de Brito was substituted for Ludvig Lund. In the 81st match minute, Gnaget United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carl Jonsson to maneuver through the defense. Mexico's Joel Gaona shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 82nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ronnie Hellström but with some difficulty. If Carl Kling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 86th minute Carl Kling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberto Tafalla blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ronnie Hellström having to make a save. When the referee blew the final whistle, Gnaget United FC could leave the field as winners, despite Mexico having more of the ball for most of the match.
