Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) SC Freiburg 09's Raul Leal started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of SC Freiburg 09 booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Raul Leal received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out and tried to block the shot, but Raul Leal slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 7th minute. In the 10th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Guterres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 12 minutes, Guillermo Mariano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the SC Freiburg 09 players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Raul Leal took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 22nd minute, Raul Leal fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Ivo Guterres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Raul Leal took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. In the 34th minute SC Freiburg 09 were awarded a corner. Mehmet Ferit İsmet went to the cornerflag to take it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Raul Leal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. In the 60thth minute of the game Abílio Passos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raul Leal in the 81st minute of the match. Raul Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. 86 minutes into the match, Abílio Passos notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abílio Passos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
