Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Filomeno Mendebal got the match started through his kick off. After some careless play in the Los Materos FC defense, Luis Andino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lazaros Kabantais. The Los Materos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lazaros Kabantais should have stopped the shot. In the 12th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lazaros Kabantais was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filomeno Mendebal in the 15th minute of play. Los Materos FC's Lazaros Kabantais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 18th minute of play. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Horacio Abajas struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Materos FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horacio Abajas in the 28th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lazaros Kabantais saved Los Materos FC from getting behind. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 36th minute of play forced Los Materos FC's goalkeeper Lazaros Kabantais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Los Materos FC's Lazaros Kabantais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 40th minute of play. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Daniel Zorita fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the match, Los Materos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Lazaros Kabantais reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Los Materos FC's Horacio Abajas in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Los Materos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 71st minute, Filomeno Mendebal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tincho Palermo in the 75th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Lazaros Kabantais made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tincho Palermo in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. The supporters of Los Materos FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute of the match Braulio Milian shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Los Materos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tincho Palermo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Los Materos FC's zone, Luis Andino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lazaros Kabantais came out of the goal and Luis Andino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Los Materos FC.
