Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Axel Tasis took the kick off in the first half of the match. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Delfim Paraense in the 4th minute. 5 minutes into the game, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Claudio-Paul Taffarel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 12th minute, Delfim Paraense left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Inter de Melão fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 16th minute Lautaro Puig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudio-Paul Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Eliseo Noboa came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Costa Rica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliseo Noboa couldn't finish the play. Lautaro Puig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Falcão Dias in the 21st minute of the match. Delfim Paraense scored 2-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio-Paul Taffarel having to interfere. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Delfim Paraense went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. In the 32nd minute, Fabinho Valladares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 33rd minute, Dráuzio Mesquita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 37th minute Delfim Paraense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute of the match Inter de Melão got a corner. Costa Rica's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Delfim Paraense ran over to the corner to take the kick. Abel Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Delfim Paraense to strike the kick off in the second half. Maurinho Vergílio hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delfim Paraense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 55 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. If Tobias Zachrisson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute Ernesto Farias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabinho Valladares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute Tobias Zachrisson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delfim Paraense in the 92nd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There was no doubt that Inter de Melão were the better team. Inter de Melão's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
