After 4 played minutes FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA got a freekick which was hit by 秦坚永. If Aaron Alcocer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Túlio Gaúcho charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Túlio Gaúcho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Juan Rubio hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's Hílton Abraão got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Durvalino Barros came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Durvalino Barros couldn't finish the play. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hílton Abraão, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After 19 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Puig. FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's Heiko Iepstra couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Costa Rica. Hílton Abraão succeeded in the game's 31st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. In the 36th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Moruga to maneuver through the defense. 37 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hílton Abraão. 38 minutes into the game, Hílton Abraão recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. Hílton Abraão showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. When Efrain Moruga fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Efrain Moruga a yellow card for diving instead. In the 41st minute, Efrain Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Válbson Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Carlinhos Dias hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Axel Tasis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ronaldão Souza. FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Axel Tasis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Aaron Alcocer hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Juan Rubio hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA's Heiko Iepstra tried to score from far away in the 59th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 64th match minute, FORMIGÃO DE BRAGA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 秦坚永 to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alan Moruga during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 79th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Moruga to maneuver through the defense. Túlio Gaúcho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Aaron Alcocer got a free kick in the 86th minute. Válbson Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Túlio Gaúcho, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Túlio Gaúcho in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind.
