Tomas Berganza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Goianésia E.C's zone, Tomas Berganza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norbert Balonek came out of the goal and Tomas Berganza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomas Berganza struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Norbert Balonek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panama. The supporters of Panama booed when Goianésia E.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Attila Kertész didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Berganza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Norbert Balonek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gabi Gol stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Felipe Ros hit a great ball. 54 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Attila Kertész came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dylan Sarmiento kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Mathias Vidal's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Panama's Tomas Berganza got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Isidoro Sarmiento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Norbert Balonek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Abraham Alguacil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Norbert Balonek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 83rd minute of play. After 84 minutes Goianésia E.C's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Abraham Alguacil who took care of the corner kick. After 84 minutes, Miguel Miralles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Panama and the Goianésia E.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some careless play in the Goianésia E.C defense, Isidoro Sarmiento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Norbert Balonek. The Goianésia E.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Norbert Balonek should have stopped the shot.
