The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pezerik's goalkeeper Shota Stopa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Just Fontaine in the 6th minute of the match. When Octavian Rutgeerts came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Pezerik fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Octavian Rutgeerts couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Just Fontaine in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 31 minutes into the game, Just Fontaine lined in a short shot 1-1 behind a frustrated Julio Vera. The supporters of Pezerik booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Pezerik's Henri-Xavier Pauwels broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Just Fontaine sent off a good shot on target. Just Fontaine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Cristian Sancho took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Shota Stopa to make any attempt to save it. In the 55th minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Henri-Xavier Pauwels recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 60thth minute of the game Just Fontaine who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wart Goegebeur in the 68th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Pezerik's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Shota Stopa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Shota Stopa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Just Fontaine in the 77th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 79 minutes into the match, Pezerik's goalkeeper Shota Stopa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Shota Stopa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Pezerik's Glen De Ceijser got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
