After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Isidoro Toribio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Garrapatita Futbol's supporters rose to their feet, but Isidoro Toribio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 46th minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alan Turin made a kick off. In the 54th minute of the match Garrapatita Futbol got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alan Turin ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Garrapatita Futbol's Astor Corderun to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the match clock showed 55 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Astor Corderun sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. After 58 played minutes Garrapatita Futbol got a freekick which was hit by Albano Lorenz. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hermengildo Jaume made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 71st minute. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Hermengildo Jaume made a huge save. Juan Sebastián Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Hermengildo Jaume in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Gorri in the 81st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hermengildo Jaume made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 85th minute. Alfredo Gorri blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Gorri, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Hermengildo Jaume made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 88th minute. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermengildo Jaume having to interfere. Felix Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Hermengildo Jaume didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
