The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 9 minutes into the match, Guagua Respaldizar dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Arturo Gordo, 1-0. 12 minutes into the match, De-la-Cruz Avecilla notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Arturo Gordo. Arturo Gordo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Arturo Gordo made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Pedro Artigue sent off a good shot on target. Arturo Gordo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from De-la-Cruz Avecilla, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Thanks to some nice moves Pedro Artigue could shoot a difficult shot in the 29th minute, which Arturo Gordo however easily saved by the left post. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's goalkeeper couldn't reach when De-la-Cruz Avecilla 31 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 4-0. 33 minutes into the game, Nataniel Senderos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barcelona Sporting Club the free kick. A collision led to PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Nataniel Senderos hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves Diego Olasagasti could shoot a difficult shot in the 45th minute, which Arturo Gordo however easily saved by the left post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcelo Zalayeta was the one to do the kick off. Arturo Gordo came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Barcelona Sporting Club's Pedro Artigue. But to his dismay, Pedro Artigue quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. Flavio Cura made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelo Zalayeta in the 61st minute. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Arturo Gordo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Artigue in the 64th minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's goal looked a bit too open when Efrain Mascareñas came free, but Arturo Gordo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arturo Gordo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Artigue in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 94th minute, De-la-Cruz Avecilla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
