Loukas Kois took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Zalayeta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th match minute, Kerkyra FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fanis Nioras to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Alves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Arturo Gordo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Koulis Kouloucheris in the 39th minute of play. After 40th play minutes Koulis Kouloucheris shot 1-3, a short shot which went by Arturo Gordo and just under the crossbar into goal. When Paolo Montero fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's protests and gave Paolo Montero a yellow card for diving instead. In the 43rd match minute, PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paolo Montero to maneuver through the defense. In the 48th minute, Paraskevas Labrakoglou hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

After 65 minutes of play, PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Marcelo Zalayeta made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Loukas Kois was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Daniel Alves put it in 2-5 from a short distance just to the right of Arturo Gordo. After 71 played minutes PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON got a freekick which was hit by José Perdomo. Grigoris Kalabosis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arturo Gordo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Zlatan Messi succeeded in the game's 76th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-6. Koulis Kouloucheris succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-7 in the 81st playminute. 89 minutes into the match, Marcelo Zalayeta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Loukas Kois. Kerkyra FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcelo Zalayeta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-7. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Kerkyra FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
