Nicolas Pirro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON defense, Patricio Rey kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arturo Gordo. The PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arturo Gordo should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Nicolas Pirro managed to get in a good position for a shot. 【E ➣PS2 FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicolas Pirro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arturo Gordo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 27th minute of the match, Marcelo Zalayeta tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Armando Velas saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Oscar Macho fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's protests and gave Oscar Macho a yellow card for diving instead. After 39 played minutes PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Macho. Arturo Gordo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Rey in the 42nd minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Patricio Rey notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Arturo Gordo. Arturo Gordo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
