After some careless play in the PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON defense, Alfons Delin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arturo Gordo. The PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arturo Gordo should have stopped the shot. Olle Tunander didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nataniel Senderos went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Olle Tunander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oscar Macho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON were awarded a corner. Paolo Montero went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's corner Paolo Montero fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Olle Tunander quite easily take care of the ball. Jerry Fristedt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Arturo Gordo made a huge save. 24 minutes into the match, PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's goal looked a bit too open when Alfons Delin came free, but Arturo Gordo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Perdomo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfons Delin in the 31st minute of play forced PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's goalkeeper Arturo Gordo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfons Delin in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arturo Gordo saved PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON from getting behind. In the 45th minute Nataniel Senderos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olle Tunander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jerry Fristedt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The wind increased when Oscar Macho made the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes VfL Wolfsburg got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Valderrama. In the 55th minute PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON were awarded a corner. Paolo Montero went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Paolo Montero almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but VfL Wolfsburg's Olle Tunander did a great save. VfL Wolfsburg's Olle Tunander proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save VfL Wolfsburg from getting a goal against them. In the 92nd minute, Martin Hedlund got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Arturo Gordo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerry Fristedt in the 96th minute of play. There was no doubt that VfL Wolfsburg were the better team. VfL Wolfsburg's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
