Eric Soned took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Monty Rogers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 7th minute USA were awarded a corner. Cassius Byrne went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led USA's Cassius Byrne to fire away a dangerous shot which Eric Soned despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 10 minutes Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cassius Byrne who took care of the corner kick. Cassius Byrne made a great header on USA's corner, it was just that Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Eric Soned managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 12th minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Soned saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nickolai Nickerson in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marco Day saved USA from getting behind. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Eric Soned played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monty Rogers in the 16th minute of play. USA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cassius Byrne in the 17th minute. USA's Cassius Byrne was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Eric Soned in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Cassius Byrne scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eric Soned, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 22 minutes into the match, Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Mcdonald came free, but Eric Soned reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nickolai Nickerson succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 25th playminute. Eric Soned came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by USA's Monty Rogers. But to his dismay, Monty Rogers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. A sloppy throw-in by Diego Bradley in the 30th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Morgan Möllgren. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nickolai Nickerson in the 31st minute of play. Jim Njurenius made a great header on Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's corner, it was just that USA's Marco Day managed to reach the ball for a save. 34 minutes into the match, Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's goal looked a bit too open when Cassius Byrne came free, but Eric Soned reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Étoile Sportive Du Sahel getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Radu Fetea hit a great ball. 40 minutes into the match, Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Mcdonald came free, but Eric Soned reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. USA's Cassius Byrne got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eric Soned made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 45th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nickolai Nickerson to strike the kick off in the second half. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nickolai Nickerson in the 51st minute of play. Eric Soned made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cassius Byrne in the 52nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nickolai Nickerson in the 55th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute Étoile Sportive Du Sahel were awarded a corner. Jim Njurenius went to the cornerflag to take it. Jim Njurenius made a great header on Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's corner, it was just that USA's Marco Day managed to reach the ball for a save. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel made a substitution. Carlo Ancelotti replaced Nickolai Nickerson. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. 68 minutes had been played when some careless play by Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Monty Rogers was slow to take the kick. During this time USA's players had a chance to rest. 69 minutes into the match, Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's goalkeeper Eric Soned had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sam Campbell. Carlo Ancelotti struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Marco Day didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Étoile Sportive Du Sahel. 73 minutes into the match, Carlo Ancelotti notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of USA's Marco Day. Marco Day was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 78 played minutes USA got a freekick which was hit by Diego Bradley. Eric Soned made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Sam Campbell sent off a good shot on target. With his leg Eric Soned managed to avoid a goal in the 86thth minute, when USA's Sam Campbell fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Étoile Sportive Du Sahel getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Radu Fetea hit a great ball. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Eric Soned played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Khalid Parry in the 89th minute of play. USA were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jenson Smith took the corner. The corner led USA's Jenson Smith to fire away a dangerous shot which Eric Soned despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a rather tough play, Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Fabrício Rivarola got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Sam Campbell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Eric Soned made a huge save.
