Maximino Malvin charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maximino Malvin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 20th minute, Maximino Malvin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21st minute, Huang Rong made a precise shot to the right of Marco Day. USA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. The USA fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when USA's Monty Rogers looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Turgay Şeren came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by USA's Monty Rogers. But to his dismay, Monty Rogers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 40th minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Turgay Şeren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Monty Rogers came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the USA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Monty Rogers couldn't finish the play. In the 46th minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Turgay Şeren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 47 minutes, Huang Rong managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Golden Generation's supporters crossed their fingers, but Huang Rong was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Golden Generation made a substitution. Elivélton Cunha replaced Huang Rong. Golden Generation made a substitution. Barnaba Ciborek replaced Alex Enoaia. After the first half USA were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Yorrick Hekman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Marco Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Golden Generation's Turgay Şeren got control of the ball when Cassius Byrne tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elivélton Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Turgay Şeren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jenson Smith in the 63rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cassius Byrne got free with Turgay Şeren in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cassius Byrne in the 64thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Turgay Şeren, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Turgay Şeren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 68th minute of play. After a rather tough play, USA's Edward Mcdonald got a free kick in the 68th minute.
