Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Carlos Alberto Azevedo started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Primitivo Mendez took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Julio Vera to make any attempt to save it. In the 6th minute, Vicente Sasoin made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Teodoro Peio saved Atlético Nacional from getting behind. After 11 minutes Atlético Nacional's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Sancho in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Teodoro Peio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Teodoro Peio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 18th minute of play forced Atlético Nacional's goalkeeper Teodoro Peio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teodoro Peio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute, Atlético Nacional's Baldomero Rodas dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 34th minute of play forced Atlético Nacional's goalkeeper Teodoro Peio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 52nd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Atlético Nacional's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Teodoro Peio made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Agustín Saelices sent off a good shot on target. After 63 played minutes Atlético Nacional got a freekick which was hit by Baldomero Rodas. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th minute, Baldomero Rodas made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Serafin Theodore's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Serafin Theodore helped the player get up and apologised. Serafin Theodore hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Vicente Sasoin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santiago Herrera in the 87th minute of play. After 88 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. Jacinto Eliazar's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacinto Eliazar helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Atlético Nacional getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Jacinto Eliazar hit a great ball. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Teodoro Peio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Atlético Nacional were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
