The referee ignored Divina Comédia FC's protests and gave Vasile Homeag a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Divina Comédia FC's Vasile Homeag got a free kick in the 26th minute. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zhuang Shi Ting having to interfere. After 33 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Guaberto Bras who took care of the corner kick. Hugo Sanchez's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hugo Sanchez helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Divina Comédia FC's Hugo Sanchez got a free kick in the 43rd minute. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guaberto Bras in the 66th minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Sanchez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Divina Comédia FC's Guaberto Bras in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The referee gave Vasile Homeag a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Divina Comédia FC had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
