Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Chen Ao Fan started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Chen Ao Fan came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Skövde AIK's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice moves Chen Ao Fan could shoot a difficult shot in the 12th minute, which Julio Vera however easily saved by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Skövde AIK's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronnie Hellström came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 14 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ronnie Hellström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Skövde AIK were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Chen Ao Fan took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 18th minute of play forced Skövde AIK's goalkeeper Ronnie Hellström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chen Ao Fan in the 20th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Skövde AIK's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronnie Hellström came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chen Ao Fan, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Ronnie Hellström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 38th minute of play. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Knut Rudberg in the 44th minute. In the 47th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronnie Hellström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Hellström having to interfere. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ronnie Hellström firmly grabbed it by the left post. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chen Ao Fan in the 56th minute of the match. Agustín Saelices took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ronnie Hellström. Ronnie Hellström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Skövde AIK made a substitution. Jerry Williams replaced Kurt Hamrin. 64 minutes into the game, Antonio Arias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Skövde AIK the free kick. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Antonio Arias got a free kick in the 64th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Knut Rudberg in the 69th minute of play. Ronnie Hellström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 72nd minute. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Primitivo Andino's late challenge caught a Skövde AIK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Primitivo Andino helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Knut Rudberg in the 78th minute of play. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Hellström having to interfere. A collision led to Skövde AIK getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Knut Rudberg hit a great ball. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Skövde AIK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Georg Norström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Hellström having to interfere. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
