In the 3rd minute Mehmet Şefik Karadağ shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Olof Vestlund, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as CAN ERZURUM's Sven-Olof Vestlund slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu. That made the score 1-0 after 7 minutes of play. Joar Scheie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leon Craandijk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Ksawery Gongola's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joar Scheie was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. The supporters of FFC Merainies 03 booed when CAN ERZURUM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aybars Demirci didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th match minute, FFC Merainies 03 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Izaak Spijker to maneuver through the defense. After 47 played minutes FFC Merainies 03 got a freekick which was hit by Andre Genkenaar. With a little luck, FFC Merainies 03's Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu got control of the ball when Mehmet Şefik Karadağ tried to sneak it across the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oskar Törnblom to strike the kick off in the second half. After 50 played minutes CAN ERZURUM got a freekick which was hit by Atabek Tecimen. Leon Craandijk took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joar Scheie. Joar Scheie dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Luís Bellini kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. FFC Merainies 03's Job Gasteren was substituted for Bruno Marceau. In the 60th match minute, CAN ERZURUM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Javier Zanetti to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in CAN ERZURUM's zone, Oskar Törnblom stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joar Scheie came out of the goal and Oskar Törnblom tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. CAN ERZURUM's Joar Scheie proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save CAN ERZURUM from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ksawery Gongola in the 68th minute of play forced CAN ERZURUM's goalkeeper Joar Scheie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd match minute, CAN ERZURUM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rolando Betadur to maneuver through the defense. CAN ERZURUM made a substitution. Joar Scheie was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ksawery Gongola showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 95 minute of play. FFC Merainies 03 played a much better game than CAN ERZURUM and deserved their victory. The CAN ERZURUM players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
