The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Edmundson Ross had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edmundson Ross was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. ❇ᛗᛁᛏᚱᚺ‍ᚨᚾᛞᛁᚱ❇'s Marjus Laçka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Peru's Emmanuel Reyes to fire away a dangerous shot which Marjus Laçka despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 13thth minute of the game Edmundson Ross who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Peru's Rolando Noboa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 16th minute of the match, Edmundson Ross tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rolando Noboa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Edmundson Ross received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Rolando Noboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute Milagros Fraga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marjus Laçka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marjus Laçka took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute, Dan Wiberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marjus Laçka was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by ❇ᛗᛁᛏᚱᚺ‍ᚨᚾᛞᛁᚱ❇'s Edmundson Ross. But to his dismay, Edmundson Ross quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Julian Murillo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marjus Laçka. That made the score 3-1 in the 73 minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, ❇ᛗᛁᛏᚱᚺ‍ᚨᚾᛞᛁᚱ❇'s goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Marjus Laçka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Marjus Laçka in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Peru's zone, Edmundson Ross stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal and Edmundson Ross tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rafael Gallo in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marjus Laçka saved ❇ᛗᛁᛏᚱᚺ‍ᚨᚾᛞᛁᚱ❇ from getting behind. Rafael Gallo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marjus Laçka read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Rafael Gallo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. ❇ᛗᛁᛏᚱᚺ‍ᚨᚾᛞᛁᚱ❇ had won after a very even match.
