After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Liu Cheng Kang managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Unión CF's supporters rose to their feet, but Liu Cheng Kang was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 7th minute of play forced Real Unión CF's goalkeeper Wilfredo Heli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilfredo Heli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Liu Cheng Kang in the 17th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilfredo Heli. Wilfredo Heli dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Wilfredo Heli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 20th minute of the match. The corner led to Ecuador's Felix Montes getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilfredo Heli having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Luis Andino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilfredo Heli narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Wilfredo Heli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of play forced Real Unión CF's goalkeeper Wilfredo Heli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilfredo Heli didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilfredo Heli having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 47th minute of play forced Real Unión CF's goalkeeper Wilfredo Heli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joaquim Valdueza kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilfredo Heli narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wilfredo Heli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 62nd minute of the match. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ecuador's Agustín Saelices was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Wilfredo Heli in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Wilfredo Heli made a huge save. In the 76th minute, Daniel Zorita sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Real Unión CF's Wilfredo Heli didn't even have to move. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Wilfredo Heli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Joaquim Valdueza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Real Unión CF made a substitution. Yanne Callaerts replaced Yuan Jian Hai. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Real Unión CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Valdueza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yanne Callaerts in the 84th minute of the match. Real Unión CF's Cebo Segura was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Wilfredo Heli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 87th minute. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilfredo Heli having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Real Unión CF's goalkeeper Wilfredo Heli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. In the 91st minute, Daniel Zorita reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Wilfredo Heli. The goal made the score 0-4. Real Unión CF's Wilfredo Heli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Real Unión CF from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Liu Cheng Kang in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Real Unión CF.
