The throw-in from İdris Demir in the 9th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Família Ressaca MZ's Xavier Laureys. When Natalio Centenales came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Família Ressaca MZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Natalio Centenales couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Família Ressaca MZ's Vasco Arruabarrena got a free kick in the 14th minute. When Geovanni Baptista came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Família Ressaca MZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geovanni Baptista couldn't finish the play. A well done corner resulted in Ronaldinho do Vale drilling the ball in to score 0-1 behind Monitor Huáscar's goalkeeper. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Monitor Huáscar's goalkeeper Apostol Sokolov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Apostol Sokolov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natalio Centenales in the 39th minute of play. Apostol Sokolov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Natalio Centenales, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Natalio Centenales managed to get in a good position for a shot. Família Ressaca MZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Natalio Centenales was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Apostol Sokolov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 49th minute of the match Família Ressaca MZ got a corner. Monitor Huáscar's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wojciech Rutecki ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Randy Doty managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Marcelo Illanes's late challenge caught a Família Ressaca MZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcelo Illanes helped the player get up and apologised. After 58 played minutes Monitor Huáscar got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Illanes. The supporters of Monitor Huáscar booed when Família Ressaca MZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldinho do Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. Família Ressaca MZ's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Wojciech Rutecki in the 68th minute. Natalio Centenales struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Apostol Sokolov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Família Ressaca MZ. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Monitor Huáscar's goalkeeper Apostol Sokolov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Xavier Laureys made in the 79th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Ronaldinho do Vale immediately put the ball in play. 80 minutes into the match, Família Ressaca MZ's Natalio Centenales sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Apostol Sokolov narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Apostol Sokolov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natalio Centenales, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Família Ressaca MZ were awarded a corner in the 83th minute after Monitor Huáscar's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Wojciech Rutecki took the corner. After taking down the ball on Família Ressaca MZ's corner Wojciech Rutecki fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Apostol Sokolov quite easily take care of the ball. João Paulo Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudio Quiroga in the 84th minute of play. Natalio Centenales fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Apostol Sokolov having to interfere. A collision led to Família Ressaca MZ getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Xavier Laureys hit a great ball. In the 96th match minute, Família Ressaca MZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vasco Arruabarrena to maneuver through the defense. João Paulo Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gines Hubieta in the 97th minute of play.
