In the 7th match minute, Tabajara FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriano Batista to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th minute of the match Jaime Pardo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Doriva Moreira skillfully saved the ball. Paraguay's Ivan Prats managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Jardel Vale in the 10 minute of the game. 13 minutes into the match, Tabajara FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Pardo came free, but Doriva Moreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jardel Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. After 23 played minutes Tabajara FC got a freekick which was hit by Adriano Batista. Jaime Pardo took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Doriva Moreira. Doriva Moreira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With an all-out effort, Tabajara FC's Jacobo Nores threw himself towards the right post 41 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luiz Eduardo Sabóia, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Marcinho de Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Paraguay were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jaime Pardo to make the kick off. Jaime Pardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doriva Moreira having to interfere. After 59 played minutes Tabajara FC got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Bento. Hector Covarrubias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doriva Moreira having to interfere. Jaime Pardo in the 73rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Doriva Moreira, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jardel Vale made in the 81st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Paraguay's Ivan Prats. A collision led to Tabajara FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Leonel Bento hit a great ball. Alan Campos hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Tabajara FC's Luiz Eduardo Sabóia got a free kick in the 90th minute. Doriva Moreira stood somewhat misplaced when Jaime Pardo came free in front of goal and shot 0-2 to the left of him in the 94 minute. Paraguay played a much better game than Tabajara FC and deserved their victory. The Tabajara FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
