In the 45th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Sanna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Concetto De Nardis, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 62nd minute Wit Lampa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Alvaro Sanna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Lautaro Mancebo came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Mancebo couldn't finish the play. Alvaro Sanna made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Joel Gaona sent off a good shot on target. 85 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Wit Lampa came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alvaro Sanna made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Concetto De Nardis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. In the 97th minute, Facundo Cadaval hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
