Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Mané Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mané Netto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luis Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 17th minute of play forced 20 de Abril's goalkeeper Mané Netto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by 20 de Abril's Valdo Toscano. But to his dismay, Valdo Toscano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. 20 de Abril's Mané Netto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdo Toscano in the 24th minute of play. The supporters of 20 de Abril booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 28 minutes, Sílvio Luís da Mata managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 20 de Abril's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sílvio Luís da Mata was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Felix Montes hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. 33 minutes into the game, 20 de Abril's Luan Zanette nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The supporters of Ecuador booed when 20 de Abril was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guilherme Corrêa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 40 minutes, Valdo Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 20 de Abril's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valdo Toscano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felix Montenegro during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a free kick in the 43rd minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valdo Toscano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. Valdo Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. 20 de Abril's Álvaro de Mendonça was substituted for Baltazar Mazza. 20 de Abril's Váldson Barral was substituted for Sílvio Luís da Mata. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind 20 de Abril's goalkeeper Mané Netto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 62 minutes of play, Ecuador's Luis Andino made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mané Netto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robinho Freire in the 68th minute of play. Cristian Sancho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Mané Netto when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Mané Netto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, 20 de Abril's Mané Netto got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Álvaro de Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 91 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mané Netto was left in no man's land by his defense there! The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
