Tomas Viviano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Defensores del Tiki Tiki's Gerardo Haritz got a free kick in the 6th minute. Defensores del Tiki Tiki's attentive Cornelio Gimenez managed to snatch the ball when Camilo Gisbert made a throw-in in the 7th minute of the game. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Defensores del Tiki Tiki was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cornelio Gimenez didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benicio Perfecto in the 10th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Tomas Viviano. Defensores del Tiki Tiki's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Defensores del Tiki Tiki's Tomas Viviano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 18th minute of play. Camilo Gisbert made in the 20th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Cristian Sancho. Tomas Viviano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Felix Montenegro went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Tomas Viviano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 24th minute of play. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tomas Viviano. Tomas Viviano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. In the 31st minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Tomas Viviano. Defensores del Tiki Tiki's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. 34 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-7, to the right of Defensores del Tiki Tiki's Tomas Viviano. Tomas Viviano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 37 minutes into the match, Luis Andino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomas Viviano. Defensores del Tiki Tiki's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luis Andino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-8. In the 41st minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-9. Tomas Viviano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 46th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Viviano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-9 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Tomas Viviano made a huge save. In the 52nd minute, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-10. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 55th minute of play forced Defensores del Tiki Tiki's goalkeeper Tomas Viviano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antonio Arias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 59th minute, Felix Montenegro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-11. When Benicio Perfecto fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Defensores del Tiki Tiki's protests and gave Benicio Perfecto a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Defensores del Tiki Tiki getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Benicio Perfecto hit a great ball. Tomas Viviano was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Cristian Sancho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cristian Sancho really showed his touch with that goal: 0-12. Tomas Viviano was a little too slow when Cristian Sancho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 67th minute. The score was now 0-13. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Tomas Viviano made a huge save. Tomas Viviano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Tomas Viviano in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tomas Viviano was out of position in the 75 minute of play, and Cristian Sancho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Luis Andino took a quick shot and it went in 0-16 without a chance for Tomas Viviano to make any attempt to save it. Through an outstanding action, after 85 minutes, Tomas Viviano successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Tomas Viviano came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-17. Tomas Viviano came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Agustín Saelices. But to his dismay, Agustín Saelices quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-18. 94 minutes into the match, Defensores del Tiki Tiki's goalkeeper Tomas Viviano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Tomas Viviano in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
