In the 31st minute of the match Defensores del Tiki Tiki got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Atilla Bumin Hızlan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 42ndth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas suffered a sore thigh after 43 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Benedykt Grunwalski fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Defensores del Tiki Tiki's protests and gave Benedykt Grunwalski a yellow card for diving instead. Venezuela's Roberto Ocampo was substituted for Tomas Illescas. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Defensores del Tiki Tiki was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benedykt Grunwalski didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina got a free kick in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

In the 55th minute, Atilla Bumin Hızlan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. When the match clock showed 64 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Atilla Bumin Hızlan sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Atilla Bumin Hızlan scored 6-0 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 71 minutes into the game, Defensores del Tiki Tiki's Hampus Nordström nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Defensores del Tiki Tiki's Gianluigi Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 75th minute of play. In the 76th minute, Jesús Martín ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. Defensores del Tiki Tiki's Laureano Gaskon was substituted for Jesús Martín. Atilla Bumin Hızlan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valentin Galo kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. 92 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Atilla Bumin Hızlan came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Laureano Gaskon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There was no doubt that Defensores del Tiki Tiki were the better team. Defensores del Tiki Tiki's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
