The referee showed Ejnar Cristoffanini the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when TeamGurre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ejnar Cristoffanini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Calvin Euvrard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 20th minute of the match. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Freddi Jellingsø took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Julio Vera to make any attempt to save it. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Calvin Euvrard didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Calvin Euvrard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 43rd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calvin Euvrard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Calvin Euvrard made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. With his leg Calvin Euvrard managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Calvin Euvrard in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
