Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kauã Melo might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kauã Melo ran back to his position shaking his head. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Válter Rodrigues came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Luis Andino. But to his dismay, Luis Andino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The GynBsb fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Válter Rodrigues should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Jeremias Cerezo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Válter Rodrigues didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Válter Rodrigues was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Michel Faria kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-7 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Felix Montenegro scored 0-8 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Válter Rodrigues, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdomiro Ferreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 63rd play minute Daniel Zorita came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Válter Rodrigues. 0-10. 65 minutes into the game, Aloísio Valadares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GynBsb's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. After 65 played minutes GynBsb got a freekick which was hit by Aloísio Valadares. With a little luck, GynBsb's Válter Rodrigues got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. GynBsb's Válter Rodrigues proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save GynBsb from getting a goal against them. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
