The audience thought a goal was coming when Argyris Zagorakis got free with Rolando Noboa in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kong Guo Chong could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. Hussein Bellido hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Rodríguez, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute.
