In the 12th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Javier Abin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ...Pingue S.C....'s Javier Abin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 15th minute of play. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinaldo Freitas in the 18th minute of play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Javier Abin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, ...Pingue S.C....'s Tiaguinho Gavilanes got a free kick in the 25th minute. 28 minutes into the match, ...Pingue S.C....'s goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Javier Abin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Santi Gavilanes got free with Julio Vera in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 36th minute of the match ...Pingue S.C.... got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Michael Pardaves ran over to the corner to take the kick. A very nice done corner allowed Santi Gavilanes to score against Julio Vera in Ecuador's goal. 2-0 after 36 minutes. Santi Gavilanes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reinaldo Freitas struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ...Pingue S.C..... Juan Sebastián Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

...Pingue S.C....'s Javier Abin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save ...Pingue S.C.... from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Paulo Yurre kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Yurre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Yurre in the 67th minute of play. After 70 minutes of play, ...Pingue S.C....'s Paulo Yurre made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 75th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 77 minutes into the match, ...Pingue S.C....'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Javier Abin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 79 minutes, the score became 5-1 when Paulo Yurre sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Yurre in the 83rd minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Yurre came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sébastien Gavilanes's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sébastien Gavilanes helped the player get up and apologised. After 87 played minutes ...Pingue S.C.... got a freekick which was hit by Sébastien Gavilanes. After 89 minutes, Paulo Yurre mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ...Pingue S.C.... and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. ...Pingue S.C.... were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
