Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Teobaldo Belmiro kicked off to start the match. Geronimo Ongile showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 6th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Calistrat Geangu. In the 12th minute, Gastres FC's Teobaldo Belmiro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Teobaldo Belmiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 18 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Tafalla. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Teobaldo Belmiro in the 19th minute. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gastres FC's goalkeeper Geronimo Ongile, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Geronimo Ongile showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute, Mexico's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Calistrat Geangu fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Calistrat Geangu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. With an all-out effort, Gastres FC's Dante Lacasa threw himself towards the right post 37 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Teobaldo Belmiro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Calistrat Geangu during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 43 played minutes Gastres FC got a freekick which was hit by Calistrat Geangu. Gastres FC's Teobaldo Belmiro got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Conrado Ramond received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. In the 57th minute, Teobaldo Belmiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Gastres FC's Geronimo Ongile played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 69th minute of play. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Gastres FC's goalkeeper Geronimo Ongile, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 74th minute Conrado Ramond shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 76th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geronimo Ongile saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conrado Ramond in the 80th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Geronimo Ongile made a huge save. 84 minutes into the match, Gastres FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Geronimo Ongile reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gastres FC made a substitution. Feliberto Cuarto replaced Tomasz Zurawski. Gastres FC's Benjamin Neto was substituted for Conrado Ramond. After 93 played minutes Gastres FC got a freekick which was hit by Göran Nyström. Mexico's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
