Julian Murillo scored 1-1 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Giannis Konstantinou, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Giannis Konstantinou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 41st minute of play. After a rather tough play, FK KLIS's Eldar Huseinović got a free kick in the 43rd minute. The supporters of Peru booed when FK KLIS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zumbul Nurković didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giannis Konstantinou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 46th minute of the match.

Giannis Konstantinou made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Giannis Konstantinou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Tenorio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Peru fans' excitement grew in the 87th match minute when Peru's Antonio Tenorio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 91st minute of the match Peru got a corner. FK KLIS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eliseo Mina ran over to the corner to take the kick. Rafael Gallo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Giannis Konstantinou read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Peru's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
