With an all-out effort, AC Milan Tigers's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 25 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cristian Creangă, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Patricio Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Codrin Barbăneagră read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Guillermo Mariano got a free kick in the 38th minute. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valentin Enciu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Iustinian Stanciu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Creangă in the 48th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Iosif Sârban managed to get in a good position for a shot. AC Milan Tigers's supporters rose to their feet, but Iosif Sârban was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 72nd match minute, AC Milan Tigers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ion Văcărescu to maneuver through the defense. Codrin Barbăneagră took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
