Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Fabio Hernando took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 10th minute, Luis Andino made a precise shot to the right of Bonifacio Naldo. Atletico Calamar Saavedra's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 12th minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute, Fabio Hernando got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Atletico Calamar Saavedra's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bonifacio Naldo came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Atletico Calamar Saavedra's Fabio Hernando got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 21st minute, Ecuador's Antonio Arias seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Antonio Arias the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Ecuador protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Antonio Arias had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 21st minute of the game. One of Ecuador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Atletico Calamar Saavedra:s goal. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Atletico Calamar Saavedra's Fabio Hernando. But to his dismay, Fabio Hernando quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After 32 played minutes, Atletico Calamar Saavedra's Eugenio Fliz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Atletico Calamar Saavedra reached it. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Atletico Calamar Saavedra's goalkeeper Bonifacio Naldo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 39th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bonifacio Naldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Bonifacio Naldo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great ball. 45 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Fabio Hernando came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Felix Montenegro came free with the goalkeeper in the 51st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Bonifacio Naldo could save by the left post. Atletico Calamar Saavedra were awarded a corner in the 56th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fabio Hernando took the corner. In the 58th minute, Serginho Silva made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. 61 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Serginho Silva came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabio Hernando in the 62nd minute of play. Felix Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Bonifacio Naldo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Bonifacio Naldo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agustín Saelices went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Atletico Calamar Saavedra's Bonifacio Naldo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Atletico Calamar Saavedra from getting a goal against them. In the 79th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Luis Andino heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Serginho Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Fabio Hernando struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atletico Calamar Saavedra. When Serginho Silva came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Atletico Calamar Saavedra fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Serginho Silva couldn't finish the play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruperto Txomin in the 96th minute of play. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Atletico Calamar Saavedra had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
