Arnaldo Bastia might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arnaldo Bastia ran back to his position shaking his head. Severo Laurgain received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benito Sanz came out and tried to block the shot, but Severo Laurgain slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 6th minute. In the 12th minute, Arnaldo Bastia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severo Laurgain, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 15 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Abel Carballo. When Arnaldo Bastia came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Social y Dep. Patagonia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnaldo Bastia couldn't finish the play. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Social y Dep. Patagonia's Severo Laurgain. But to his dismay, Severo Laurgain quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Alexander Carballo's late challenge caught a Social y Dep. Patagonia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alexander Carballo helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Alexander Carballo hit a great ball. After having played for 23 minutes, Severo Laurgain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Social y Dep. Patagonia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Severo Laurgain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Social y Dep. Patagonia fans' excitement grew in the 25th match minute when Social y Dep. Patagonia's Severo Laurgain looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 29th play minutes Severo Laurgain shot 4-0, a short shot which went by Benito Sanz and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 34th minute Axel Tasis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tobias Faro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Eliseo Noboa came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Costa Rica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliseo Noboa couldn't finish the play. After 41 minutes of play, Social y Dep. Patagonia's Severo Laurgain made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! 45 minutes into the match, Social y Dep. Patagonia's Severo Laurgain sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Social y Dep. Patagonia's attentive Robustiano Elorri managed to snatch the ball when Efrain Moruga made a throw-in in the 47th minute of the game. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.

54 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Severo Laurgain came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Severo Laurgain took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severo Laurgain in the 64th minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Severo Laurgain took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natalio Mergildo, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Natalio Mergildo might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Natalio Mergildo ran back to his position shaking his head. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natalio Mergildo in the 79th minute of play. After having played for 81 minutes, Natalio Mergildo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Social y Dep. Patagonia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Natalio Mergildo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 83 minutes into the match, Social y Dep. Patagonia's Natalio Mergildo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 91st minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Natalio Mergildo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Natalio Mergildo in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Social y Dep. Patagonia walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
