Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Tomas Illescas kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd minute, FC Rio Tinto's Oswin Urfer ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After having played for 9 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 25th minute of play forced FC Rio Tinto's goalkeeper Hannes Dresdner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in FC Rio Tinto's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hannes Dresdner came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hannes Dresdner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 32nd minute of play. When FC Rio Tinto's Oswin Urfer in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. In the 36th minute, FC Rio Tinto's Colin Verreau ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. 39 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of FC Rio Tinto's Hannes Dresdner. Hannes Dresdner was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Oswin Urfer scored 3-2 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oswin Urfer made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rainer Marthaler during the 50th minute. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. FC Rio Tinto made a substitution. Vincent Albbrecht replaced Rainer Marthaler. FC Rio Tinto's Nicola Frei pulled a muscle in his back after 80 minutes and couldn't finish the game. FC Rio Tinto's Liborius Zeffiro was substituted for Nicola Frei. The supporters of FC Rio Tinto booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oswin Urfer took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-2. In the 89th minute Dominik Cascarella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to FC Rio Tinto getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Carlos Rodrigues hit a great ball. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Oswin Urfer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-2. FC Rio Tinto's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
