The audience thought a goal was coming when Fortunato Borromeo got free with Julio Vera in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 25th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damiano Battisti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Eurospeed Asti's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Damiano Battisti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Grant Irø tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Eurospeed Asti defense, Luis Andino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Damiano Battisti. The Eurospeed Asti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Damiano Battisti should have stopped the shot.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damiano Battisti having to interfere. Eurospeed Asti's Damiano Battisti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 86th minute of play. In the 87th match minute, Eurospeed Asti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edward Barr to maneuver through the defense.
