In the 23rd minute, one of FC Lugano:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Lugano. When Odysseus De Souza came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the FC Lugano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Odysseus De Souza couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, FC Lugano's Fidelio Haller got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 38th minute of the match FC Lugano got a corner. Dom Spokojnej Młodości's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Chatmongkon Borvornpattarakomol ran over to the corner to take the kick. Chatmongkon Borvornpattarakomol made a great header on FC Lugano's corner, it was just that Dom Spokojnej Młodości's Dominik Zdrojowy managed to reach the ball for a save. After 46 played minutes FC Lugano got a freekick which was hit by Florian Diederich.

In the 56th minute of the match, Kazimierz Ludwa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dieter Gärtner was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The referee ignored Dom Spokojnej Młodości's protests and gave Sebastian Marajda a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of FC Lugano booed when Dom Spokojnej Młodości was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Marajda didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ulric Donsante in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dominik Zdrojowy saved Dom Spokojnej Młodości from getting behind. 90 minutes into the match, Dom Spokojnej Młodości's goal looked a bit too open when Ulric Donsante came free, but Dominik Zdrojowy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Dom Spokojnej Młodości getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Adas Dresik hit a great ball.

The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Dom Spokojnej Młodości walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
