MAKRO's Gaizkine Nobo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 8th minute of play. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Teodoro Manso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 18th minute, Joel Gaona left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 24th minute, Luca Zorita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after MAKRO's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joel Gaona in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gaizkine Nobo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaizkine Nobo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lautaro Mancebo kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. After 96 played minutes, MAKRO's Karsten Telkamp shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dante Lacasa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in MAKRO reached it. The MAKRO fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mexico were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
