Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. El Retorno de Palermo's Cyryl Marczyniec quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 28th minute. Ecuador's Felix Montes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Aytek Samin in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Aytek Samin quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 37th match minute, El Retorno de Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aldo Fernanco to maneuver through the defense. After 38 played minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aytek Samin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ecuador reached it. 40 minutes into the match, El Retorno de Palermo's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Aytek Samin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benicio Osasun made a kick off. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Daniel Zorita, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 58 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Aytek Samin was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benicio Osasun in the 61st minute of play. El Retorno de Palermo's Huang Zhen Bo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Felix Montenegro in the 63 minute of the game. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benicio Osasun in the 63rd minute of the match. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benicio Osasun, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After 69 minutes El Retorno de Palermo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Aytek Samin quite easily take care of the ball. A collision led to El Retorno de Palermo getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Benicio Osasun hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 74th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Aytek Samin could save by the left post. The El Retorno de Palermo fans' excitement grew in the 75th match minute when El Retorno de Palermo's Benicio Osasun looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Ecuador booed when El Retorno de Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Videl didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benicio Osasun in the 82nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 84 played minutes El Retorno de Palermo got a freekick which was hit by Benicio Osasun. 86 minutes into the game, Camilo Gisbert threw the ball into play from the sideline. El Retorno de Palermo's Aldo Fernanco quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Aytek Samin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 93rd minute. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because El Retorno de Palermo had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
